ABOUT
SMAUG or Shape Memory Alloy Universal Grabber is an interdisciplinary design team focused on creating new innovative grabbers to better our world. We will be participating in CASMART 2020 for the coming year as part of their Design with the Material Competition for students across the nation and the world.
SMAUG focuses primarily on advancing mechanical designs using materials not commonly utilized, this is the primary element that sets our grabber designs apart from current marketable designs. Throughout the coming semesters, our team will focus on keeping our customers and our community updated with our progress both successes and failures.
OUR TEAM
Our team was formed from students who previously took part in CASMART in 2019 and 2017 as part of different material design teams. Although from different teams, we have now all come together to form a team of extremely bright and innovative students to focus on design with the material. We are all excited to keep everyone updated with our progress throughout the competition in coming two semesters.
